About Tim Mayer

Tim has extensive experience and expertise across product management, marketing and general management.  Tim started his career in product management and product marketing in the search engine arena with early search pioneers Inktomi, FAST Search and Transfer, Overture and Yahoo in both the algorithmic search and paid search areas.

Tim broadened his experience through other roles at Yahoo such as:

1) General Manager of the commerce properties (Shopping, Local, Travel, Personals, Autos, Health Real Estate and Tech)

2) Leading the Yahoo Front Page news desk and editorial team

3) Leading the search business team (monetization and distribution)

4) Spearheading a cross company initiative to grow search market share which led to 200 basis point of growth.

Post Yahoo, Tim has been leading marketing teams at both B2C and B2B companies running multi-channel marketing campaigns as well as building new web sites. These companies include TrueffectShopathome.com and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tim’s unique approach lies in his dual strengths of strategic thinking  and detailed execution.   He can develop an effective marketing plan, get into the details and execute campaigns across all channels, as well as write effective content. 

Tim is hands-on in search engine optimization (SEO), Adwords, Analytics, email marketing, paid social (Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram), content/inbound marketing, display advertising and remarketing arenas.

Tim’s current focus is on helping companies achieve better visibility in search engines, optimizing user experience and conversions to increase sales and revenue for clients, and building new ecommerce and B2B web sites. Tim offers several products to clients including keyword research, SEO site audits, Conversion Rate Optimization as well as full ecommerce site builds.

Tim is a regular writer for tech publications on paid search, SEO and display advertising/retargeting and speaker/keynoter at conferences such as SMX, SXSW, SEOktoberfest, Pubcon and SEMPDX.
